Universal Studios Hollywood is one of the best theme parks in Southern California with regards to quality and unique experiences with popular franchises. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is a dream for fans of the movies, Springfield USA is unbelievably charming, and the characters and food are out of this world.

There's so much to see and do and enjoy at this theme park, and they always seem to be adding more. In fact, they're working on the upcoming Super Nintendo World to the park which will hopefully be coming soon! The special events that occur throughout the year add to the magic, from the frightening Halloween Horror Nights to the whimsical Christmas celebrations.

Most of the rides at Universal Studios Hollywood are appropriate for the whole family, from the unique Studio Tour to the Flight of the Hippogriff, to the Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash. The shows are brilliant and fun, and the characters add a new layer of fun to the experience. The food is pretty great as well, and very reasonably priced for a theme park.

Whether you're coming to enjoy the rides, taste the delicious treats, or marvel at the sets on the back lot Studio Tour, our theme park guide will help ensure you have a fantastic time at Universal Studios Hollywood!

Universal Studios Hollywood is a celebration of movies and the way they're made. The studio tour brings movie fans up close to the movie-making magic, and all the spaces in the park are themed beautifully either to individual movie fanchises or just to movie tropes in general. This makes the theme park perfect for kids and adults alike. Coming to Universal Studios really makes you feel that Hollywood magic!
Theme Park Money Icon
$185 USD
(per day, based on a 2 day trip)
We recommend 2 full days to really be able to take in all that Universal Studios Hollywood has to offer. There is no 2-day pass, so you'd essentially be getting a season pass, which is a bonus if you intend on returning throughout the year.

The food at this theme park is priced very reasonably compared to other theme parks, but the souvenirs are what drives the average spending prices up. Those must-have interactive wands for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter? $60+. A must-have minion plushie for your kids? $25+. Those really cool Jurassic Park t-shirts? $25+.

Dec - Jan
Sep - Oct
The weather in Los Angeles is fantastic most of the year, so visitors needn't fear the winter seasons. September brings lower crowds as kids head back to school, and October brings Halloween Horror Nights.

The Christmas and New Year's season at Universal is also a wonderful time, with tons of additions to the park including meet-and-greets with The Grinch, special holiday treats, and the park decked out in its holiday best. New Year's Eve is also a fantastic celebration complete with fireworks, DJ's, and all the glitz that Hollywood can offer to ring in the new year!
