Arguably one of the most popular and well-themed lands at Universal Studios Hollywood, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is a feast for the eyes. As soon as you step through the Hogsmeade archway, you'll find yourself in a charming winter wonderland where witches and wizards can shop, dine, and enjoy the thrilling rides this land has to offer.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter only has 2 rides, but the land makes up for it with wonderful experiences, shows, and general splendor. Each shop is beautifully decorated and themed, with different merchandise for guests to enjoy. A morning spent perusing the Hogsmeade shops can turn into a whole day if you're not careful!

The food options in this land are limited but great for what they are. Aside from the chocolate frogs and jelly beans and other snacks you can get from the merchandise stores, there's the Three Broomsticks and Hog's Head. You can get a full British meal at the Three Broomsticks or just a drink at Hog's Head. There's also the popular Butterbeer Cart in the center of the street that's nearly impossible to pass on during a visit.

Top 3 Things to do in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

Ride Harry Potter & the Forbidden Journey
Of the two rides in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, this one is considered the better ride and is thus more popular. It's a must-do for Harry Potter fans for sure, as it takes you through part of the castle and even in Dumbledore's study as part of the queue. The ride itself is fairly family friendly, although we'd rate it a little higher than "mild" on the thrill scare.

Try a Butterbeer
You go to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. You get a butterbeer! That's just what you do in Hogsmeade! This delicious treat is available all day, which makes it all the more tempting to get more than one. We're part of the few who enjoy our butterbeer melted, but you can also enjoy it frozen (the most popular option) or hot (great for chilly days!).

Experience Ollivander's
The lines can get long for Ollivander's, due to the shop's limited capacity and the slightly long show. However, if it's your first time visiting, it's well worth the wait to experience a lucky participant discovering their wand -or rather, a wand choosing the participant, as we've heard it goes.

Food & Drinks

Butterbeer Cart
Butterbeer & Other Drinks
Price: $5 - $12
Sure, you can get Gilly Water and sodas and other drinks at the Butterbeer cart, but most everyone is line for Butterbeer. It's a fantastic snack, makes for great photos, and is quite affordable as a specialized theme park drink.
Hog's Head
Drinks, Beers, Spirits
Price: $5 - $15
If you fancy a drink while you're out and about at Hogsmeade, the Hog's Head is the place to go. They've got Butterbeer, Pumpkin Juice, beer, wine, mixed drinks and more. The bar is also charmingly decorated and makes for a great backdrop for photos. If the Butterbeer Cart line is long, we recommend checking in at the Hog's Head to see if you can get your Butterbeer quicker here. We also recommend trying the mead for something more unique!
Fudge, Sweets, Candy
Price: $5 - $15
Is your sweet tooth calling after a meal at the Three Broomstick's? Honeydukes is the place to go to get your sugar fix, and it's a great place to get desserts or fun souvenir treats for the Harry Potter fans back home. The shop is colorful and lively, and all the merchandise is cleverly designed. We always recommend the chocolate frogs, as they're a classic and a favorite of ours!
Three Broomsticks
British Cuisine
Price: $10 - $20
Famished witches and wizards know the Three Broomsticks is the place to go if you're looking for something tasty and filling in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The tavern is large and boisterous, giving it a charming, authentic feel. The food is also fantastic, from classics like Fish & Chips and Cornish Pasties to grander options like the "Great Feast". This restaurant is one of the best themed ones in park and is worth a stop if you're a fan of British Food.
Magic Neep Cart
Snacks, Drinks, Ice Cream
Price: $5 - $10
Located at the entrance to one of the back alleys in this land, the Magic Neep Cart is a large snack cart with drinks and treats to enjoy while you're perusing the shops. The best item here is the ice cream from Florean Fortescue's, which is an ice cream shop only available at Orlando's Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The cart offers 2 of the ice cream flavors from Florean Fortescue's, including the popular butterbeer flavor (which we highly recommend).

Rides & Attractions

Relaxing (Slow with Little or No Elevation Changes) | Mild (Slow to Moderately Fast with Potentially Higher Elevation)

Thrilling (Fast with Potential High Elevations & Loops) | Wild (Intense Speeds, Extreme Heights, and/or Loops)
Flight of the Hippogriff
Height: 48" alone | 39" - 48" w/adult
Intensity Level: Mild
Take a (very) quick ride on a hippogriff at this outdoor coaster near Hagrid's Hut. It's a great family coaster, with no big loops or drops, but it's also a lot shorter than we'd like. Still, if the line is short and you fancy an enjoyable ride, it's a great option. The details in the queue are also great to look out for while you're waiting.
Harry Potter and the
Forbidden Journey
Height: 48"
Intensity Level: Thrilling
Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey is actually two awesome attractions in one: the queue and the actual ride itself. The queue circles round Hogwarts from the outdoor area to the inner halls and even Dumbledore's study. There's plenty to see and enjoy while you're waiting -it's almost a waste to just rush past everything. The ride itself is pretty solid as well. The vehicle and motions are a little unique but do a great job at immersing you in the action.

A trip to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Hollywood isn't complete without a stop at Ollivander's, makers of fine wands. The shop often has a line near the main entrance, since guests can experience a short but magical session with one of the shop's wand specialists. One member of each viewing group will be chosen to try out a few wands, which can cause a bit of chaos. Overall, the experience is charming and worth doing at least once, especially for huge fans of the franchise.
Zonko's Joke Shop
Height: N/A
Intensity Level: N/A
Just next to Honeydukes is Zonko's Joke Shop which is filled with cute little toys and souvenirs that are perfect for kids or the young at heart. The shop itself is a treat to be in when it's not busy, as there's plenty to see all around.
Wand Magic Experiences
Height: N/A
Intensity Level: N/A
Guests who have an interactive wand can practice spells at a few key locations around Hogsmead. These spell locations let guests create a little magic of their own with unique effects that trigger when the spell is cast successfully. There are currently 15 different spells to practice at 13 locations throughout Hogsmeade.
