The Lower Lot at Universal Studios Hollywood is separated from the Upper Lot by a system of escalators that take guest all the way down to a more secluded section of the park. The ride up or down consists of multiple elevators and rest levels and can take anywhere from 8 to 15 minutes to traverse, depending on how quickly you go and how dense the crowds are.

At the moment, there are 3 rides in the Lower Lot: Revenge of the Mummy, Transformers The Ride, and Jurassic World. All 3 rides are fairly popular, so the lines can get pretty longin this part of the park. We recommend hitting this section either at the very beginning or the very end of your visit, to avoid the heavy wait times.

The food options at this section of the park are okay, but a bit lackluster compared to the options in the upper Lot. There's a Starbucks, ice cream at Studio Scoop, Panda Express, a Revenge of the Mummy-themed hot dog quick service eatery, and Studio Cafe. With the coming of Super Nintendo World, however, we expect there to be more colorful options coming soon to the Lower Lot.

Top 3 Things to do in the Lower Lot

Ride Transformers The Ride 3D
This ride is just a classic 3D ride that's popular on both coasts. Lines don't tend to get much longer than 50 or 60 minutes, but there's a good chance you'll hit it closer to 30-40 minutes.

Try a Milkshake at Studio Scoop
These may be some of the best desserts at Universal Studios Hollywood! The restaurant itself looks pretty unassuming, but the milkshakes here are indulgent and instagram-worthy for sure!

Food & Drinks

Mummy Eats
Corn Dogs, Drinks
Price: $10 - $15
Right next to the entrance of the Revenge of the Mummy ride is Mummy Eats. It features delicious corn dogs and is one of the most popular quick service restaurants in the Lower Lot. There's only a handful of corn dog options, but they're all pretty solid. The Korean Corn Dog is one of our favorites. The Classic Cinnamon Churro is also a great option, if you're looking for a quick dessert with your corn dog.
Starbucks
Coffee, Drinks, Pastries
Price: $5 - $15
If you're craving typical Starbucks pastries or drinks, you don't have to go all the way back up to the Upper Lot Starbucks to get your fill. This location is often less crowded than the location near the park entrance, so it's perfect for the beginning of the day if you plan on hitting all the Lower Lot rides first.
Studio Cafe
Sandwiches, Pizza, Salads, Desserts
Price: $10 - $20
Studio Cafe is a pretty low key restaurant in the Lower Lot, but it has a ton of great options. From sandwiches to salads to pizza to turkey legs to pastries and more, this eatery has one of the widest ranges of food options available, making it great for larger parties with picky eaters. The California Club Wrap is a classic option that's pretty solid. The Vegan Bánh Mì is also fantastic and fresh and quite healthy. On the other end of the spectrum, you can opt for a Personal Pizza or a savory Smoked Turkey Leg. For desserts, the Hazelnut Panna Cotta is a unique option that's just the right amount of sweetness. The cupcakes are also great, along with the Minion Fruit Bar.
Studio Scoop
Soft Serve Cones, Sundaes, Milkshakes
Price: $5 - $15
There's nothing better on a hot California day than some ice cream and Studio Scoop offers some indulgent solutions to such a problem! Their cones are classic but fun, with 3 different flavor soft serves in each option. The Banana Split is our favorite, with banana, chocolate, and strawberry soft serve. Their sundaes and milkshakes are also delightful. The milkshakes in particular, are a little over-the-top. The Strawberry Indulgence, for example, is topped with cereal, candy pops, and a chocolate covered strawberry. It's perfect for those summer days in the park and very easy to share!
Panda Express
Asian Fast Food
Price: $10 - $20
An overpriced Panda Express, this quick service eatery can be a bit difficult to find since it's labeled as the Studio Comissary on the outer portion of the building. They do have the Panda Express logo outside as well, but it's not as prominent. The food is typical Asian fast food, comparable to most Panda Express locations in LA. The price, however, is about $4 or $5 more than the average Panda Express.

Thrilling (Fast with Potential High Elevations & Loops) | Wild (Intense Speeds, Extreme Heights, and/or Loops)
Revenge of the Mummy
Height: 48"
Intensity Level: Thrilling
This ride is one of the most thrilling experiences in Universal Studios Hollywood! It's a dark ride that propels guests up to 45mph through fire and darkness as they try to escape the terrifying Mummy's revenge. It's quite the action ride and is definitely a much-needed adrenaline boost compared with most of the other rides in the park.
Transformers The Ride 3D
Height: Min 40" | 40 - 48" w/adult
Intensity Level:
One of the classics at Universal Parks on both coasts, Transformers The Ride 3D takes guests on a simulated flight ride through battles with Optimus Prime against the Decepticons. Fans of the Transformers series will get to see a bunch of favorite characters throughout the fight, like Bumblebee, Megatron, and other Autobots and Decepticons. It's a thrilling ride, but not too intense, so it's fitting for most of the family.
