Universal Studios Hollywood Food & Drinks

Universal Studios Hollywood
The food and drink options at Universal Studios Hollywood are varied and well spread out. From the eccentric and colorful Minion Cafe to the classic and charming Hollywood and Dine to the lively Toadstool Cafe, there's plenty to enjoy at this wonderful theme park. The dining pricing is also fairly reasonable, varying only slightly between restaurant locations but overall well-priced for the quality of food.

You can spend an entire day just visiting all the great eateries at Universal Studios Hollywood and still not get bored (trust us, we've done this!). Most dining locations serve a limited menu with a handful of specials, but that generally means the quality is pretty solid on everything and the service is quick. Peak dining hours see most restaurant wait times balloon to sometimes over 45 minutes, so we recommend trying to eat early in the day or at off-peak dining times, like 2-4pm or after 7. Don't forget to check out your mobile options on the Universal Studios Hollywood app to lower your wait times for food!

Top 3 Places to Eat in Univeral Studios Hollywood

No 1 Icon
Minion Cafe
It's charming, has affordable, delicious options, and usually boasts lower wait times than other restaurants in the park. This is one of our favorite places to eat the park. The food is quick and nothing fancy, but it's absolutely tasty! The themed desserts are also beautiful and fun, which kids love. Don't miss the Pulled Pork Grilled Cheese here!
No 2 Icon
Three Broomsticks
The theming and food are both excellent at this sit-down dining location at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It can have pretty long wait times toward the middle of the day though, so we recommend going early for breakfast or late for dinner.
No 3 Icon
Toadstool Cafe
The newest restaurant at Universal is also one of the most adorable places to eat. The food is a mix of American and Italian cuisine with hits like the Mario Burger, Super Star Chicken Salad, and Fire Flower Spaghetti & Meatballs. This is a MUST-TRY if you love taking food pics for instagram!

City Snack Shop
Snacks & Desserts
Price: $0 - $15
City Snack Shop is a great quick stop if you're looking for something to munch on while you're waiting in line for a ride or if you're not hungry enough for a full meal. They're open pretty early and offer pretzels, crepes, and sometimes specialty seasonal snacks like donuts and cookies. The beignets here are fantastic, fluffy, and great for sharing. The pretzel hotdogs are unique and perfect for a solo snack or light lunch. The line is also much more reasonable than most restaurants in the area.
Located In Upper Lot
Cocina Mexicana
Fast Mexican Cuisine
Price: $10 - $15
Cocina Mexican is a quick service location that offers Mexican fast food like tacos, burritos, margaritas, and more! It's located right on the main pathway in the Upper Lot, so it's hard to miss. This location tends to get busier the later the day gets, so we recommend visiting earlier if you're craving Mexican food while you're visiting the park. We recommend the carne asada taco platter here. It's tasty and super filling!
Located In Upper Lot
French Street Bistro
Sandwiches, Salads, Pastries
Price: $10 - $20
French Street Bistro is another eatery that is open pretty early, so it's a great spot to swing by for breakfast. The pastries, in particular, are wonderful for a quick morning meal. The quiches are also very tasty, although a little small for the price. The beignets are solid as well. This restaurant tends to be one of the quieter ones in the park, so we recommend checking it out if everywhere else has long lines that are out the door.
Located In Upper Lot
Hollywood & Dine
Burgers, Bowls, Pizzas & More
Price: $10 - $20
Hollywood & Dine is a classic sit-down restaurant that has a wide variety of food options to choose from. They're currently serving a variety of Asian cuisine including poke, ramen, bao buns, and also have great dessert options. Located near the main entrance to the theme park, it's a little out of the way to get to unless you're on your way out of the park or just came from a Waterworld show. It's well worth the stop for the freshly made funnel cake topped with strawberries and ice cream. We can't think of a better way to end the day at Universal Studios Hollywood!
Located In Upper Lot
Mel's Diner
Burgers, Sandwiches, Milkshakes
Price: $10 - $20
Mel's Diner serves up American classics in its charming 50's themed dining area. It's got burgers, chicken sandwiches, onion rings, milkshakes, root beer, and more! Needless to say, it's a pretty popular location for picky eaters since it has plenty of basic "essentials". It also has a great location with outdoor seating for people-watching. It does tend to get pretty busy toward the middle of the day, so we recommend eating at off-peak dining hours.
Located In Upper Lot
Minion Cafe
Sandwiches, Snacks, Desserts
Price: $12 - $20
Minion Cafe is one of our favorite restaurants in Universal Studios Hollywood. It has a handful of delicious, affordable options, it's great for kids, and the line moves pretty quickly, regardless of how busy it is. It can be a little difficult to find seating during peak dining hours, but there's also nearby seating and tables on French Street or toward Mel's Diner. Don't miss out on the tasty Pulled Pork Grilled Cheese or the Nutella Banana Pudding at this eatery!
Located In Upper Lot
Mulligan's Irish Pub
Beers, Spirits & Snacks
Price: $5 - $15
This little pub is perfectly located so that adults can relax and have a drink while the kids enjoy the nearby attractions like The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash or Despicable Me Minion Mayhem. There are a few snacks on the menu, but otherwise, it's just a watering hole, meant for a quick stop. Both the exterior and interior are beautifully decorated though, to really give it that Irish pub feel.
Located In Upper Lot
Palace Deli & Market
Sandwiches, Salads, Snacks
Price: $10 - $20
For those who don't want to fuss with dining options, Palace Deli & Market is our favorite place to pick up a quick snack or meal while you're on the go. You can pick up a sandwich or a Hot Grab & Go Entree without much waiting, as well as smaller snacks like fruit or chips. There's a large seating area just outside the restaurant, so there's usually seating available most of the day, especially since most guests eat their food pretty quickly and then head out.
Located In Upper Lot
Mummy Eats
Corn Dogs, Drinks
Price: $10 - $15
Right next to the entrance of the Revenge of the Mummy ride is Mummy Eats. It features delicious corn dogs and is one of the most popular quick service restaurants in the Lower Lot. The Classic Cinnamon Churro is also a great option, if you're looking for a quick dessert with your corn dog.

Starbucks
Coffee, Drinks, Pastries
Price: $5 - $15
If you're craving typical Starbucks pastries or drinks, you don't have to go all the way back up to the Upper Lot Starbucks to get your fill. Studio Cafe is a pretty low key restaurant in the Lower Lot, but it has a ton of great options. From sandwiches to salads to pizza to turkey legs to pastries and more, this eatery has one of the widest ranges of food options available, making it great for larger parties with picky eaters. The California Club Wrap is a classic option that's pretty solid. The Vegan Bánh Mì is also fantastic and fresh and quite healthy. On the other end of the spectrum, you can opt for a Personal Pizza or a savory Smoked Turkey Leg. For desserts, the Hazelnut Panna Cotta is a unique option that's just the right amount of sweetness. The cupcakes are also great, along with the Minion Fruit Bar.
Located In Lower Lot
Studio Scoop
Soft Serve Cones, Sundaes, Milkshakes
Price: $5 - $15
There's nothing better on a hot California day than some ice cream and Studio Scoop offers some indulgent solutions to such a problem! Their cones are classic but fun, with 3 different flavor soft serves in each option. The Banana Split is our favorite, with banana, chocolate, and strawberry soft serve. Their sundaes and milkshakes are also delightful. The milkshakes in particular, are a little over-the-top. The Strawberry Indulgence, for example, is topped with cereal, candy pops, and a chocolate covered strawberry. It's perfect for those summer days in the park and very easy to share!
Located In Lower Lot
Panda Express
Asian Fast Food
Price: $10 - $20
An overpriced Panda Express, this quick service eatery can be a bit difficult to find since it's labeled as the Studio Comissary on the outer portion of the building. They do have the Panda Express logo outside as well, but it's not as prominent. The food is typical Asian fast food, comparable to most Panda Express locations in LA. The price, however, is about $4 or $5 more than the average Panda Express.

Snacks, Drinks, Ice Cream
Price: $5 - $10
Located at the entrance to one of the back alleys in this land, the Magic Neep Cart is a large snack cart with drinks and treats to enjoy while you're perusing the shops. The best item here is the ice cream from Florean Fortescue's, which is an ice cream shop only available at Orlando's Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The cart offers 2 of the ice cream flavors from Florean Fortescue's, including the popular butterbeer flavor (which we highly recommend).

Bumblebee Man's Taco Truck
Tacos & Nachos
Price: $10 - $20
This food truck is located just inside the entrance to the Duff Brewery Beer Garden. The tacos here are pretty solid and are perfect to pair with the drinks just across the garden. The menu is short and simple, as a food truck menu ought to be, with just 3 taco and 3 nacho options. The Mucho Macho Nachos are savory heaps of toppings on crunchy nachos that are perfect for the whole family to share. We highly recommend these as they're a great value and super delicious! The carnitas (both in taco and nacho form) are our favorites at this location.

Cletus' Chicken Shack
Fried Chicken, Chicken Sandwiches, Tenders
Price: $15 - $20
Fried Chicken is (obviously) the crowd pleaser at Cletus' Chicken Shack. The most popular meal, Cletus' Peep-Fried Chicken Platter, is a large portion of fried chicken served with corn, mashed potatoes, and a warm biscuit. It's a delicious plate that's large enough to share with one other person. The Chicken Thumbs are pretty basic but also great for kids. The Chicken & Waffle Sandwich is delicious and huge. The maple mayo sauce is pretty unique on this one, so we definitely recommend it for those of you who are a little more adventurous.

Duff Brewery Beer Garden
Alcoholic Beverages
Price: $15 - $20
Beer, cocktails, and wine are the options at Duff Brewery. From margaritas to chardonnay to Duff beer, there's plenty to try for those who are thirsty. Even for those who don't drink, the garden is a great spot to check out anyway. It's a little separated from the crowds via the main wall, so it's much more peaceful. There are also some great topiaries of the Seven Duffs throughout the garden, along with a large statue of Duffman (a popular photo spot).

No visit to Springfield is really complete without a stop at this fun burger joint that features the classic Krusty Burger! It's... exactly what you expect -a fast food joint with burgers as the main food options, along with soda and a few desserts to try. The standard Krusty Burger is pretty solid and better than most people expect. The Mother Nature Burger is also pretty decent and a great option for vegans who don't want to miss out on the fun. Marge's Loaded Peanut Butter Brownie is also a great dessert here, and pretty large for the price. All in all, Krusty Burger is a pretty reliable spot for classic American fast food in a colorful, 90's-fast-food atmosphere.

Lard Lad Donuts
Donuts
Price: $5 - $10
Underneath the giant Lard Lad Donut statue is a simple ordering window with just 2 donut options (most of the time). There's either The Big Pink (Homer's favorite) or a Large Lad Donut (what they call all other donut flavors). The Big Pink is a classic and is the most popular donut here. Most people tend to get it for the photos but the donut itself is tasty and sweet. The Oreo Donuts and the Chocolate Glazed are some of our favorite variations. They're also instagram-worthy!

The Meat Hater's is a vegan pizza that includes mushrooms, green bell peppers, tomatoes, olives, and red onions. The Meat Liker's Pizza, on the other end of the spectrum, is also delicious, with sausage, pepperoni, meatballs and bacon. Also, don't miss out on the Cheesy Garlic Bread here! They're cheap but amazing, and they're great to bring along to your next attraction.
Located In Springfield USA
Moe's Tavern
Alcoholic Beverages, Drinks
Price: $15 - $20
Moe's Tavern is for the beer lovers who prefer to sit in a dimly lit pub atmosphere rather than in the hot rays of the California sunshine across at the brewery garden. The menu is essentially the same as the one at the Duff Brewery Beer Garden, so it's a great alternative if the beer garden is busy (and vice versa!). While there aren't any topiaries to see here, you can still enjoy the broken jukebox or the Love Tester machine. Oh and don't forget to try a Flaming Moe -one of the specials here!

Whether you want a snack or a quick meal, Suds McDuff's is a great stop for hot dogs, pretzels, cotton candy, and churros. The Krusty's Non-Kosher Hot Dog Kombo is the usual choice here. It's a stretch hot dog that's great to share if you're looking for a full meal. The Twisted Pretzel of Marge Simpson is also delicious, especially when paired with a side of cheese sauce. The line can tend to get a little long towards the middle of the day, so we recommend going early or later in the day to avoid waiting too long for a snack at this cute location.
Located In Springfield USA
Toadstool Cafe
American, Pasta, Desserts
Price: $10 - $20
Toadstool Cafe serves up beautifully themed food in a charming restaurant. Since it's new, there's usually quite a long wait to enter the cafe, and sometimes an even longer one to get your food. We recommend you get reservations as early as possible and heat there first thing if it's your priority. When you do arrive, be sure to try the Super Star Chicken Salad and the quirky burgers (that come with hats!). The chocolate covered oreos that come with the kids meal are also fantastic and shouldn't be missed, along with the cute tiramisu dessert. The Fire Flower Spaghetti is also pretty tasty if you don't mind a good kick to your pasta.

Jurassic Cafe has one of the more unique menu options at Universal Studios Hollywood, with options like the Slow Roasted Mojo Pork, the Citrus Glazed Chicken, and the Turkey Leg Platter. The Slow Roasted Mojo Pork is delicious and filling and large enough to share between two people. The Isla Chicken Sandwich is also a great option that includes cabbage, tomato, chimichurri aioli, and Nublar sauce on a toasted bun. The chicken is juicy, the sauces add just the right amount of flavor, and the seasoned fries that go along with that meal are wonderful.
