Sesame Place San Diego

Chula Vista, California, USA
Sesame Place San Diego is the newest Sesame Place park, and it's colorful and lively and great for families with younger kids. It's a combination theme park and water park, with the water park elements mixed in between, as opposed to being two separate parks. It's acceptable (and recommended) to wear swimwear throughout the whole park, as it's likely you'll get wet if you choose to partake in most of the park's rides and activities.

The rides and activities around Sesame Place are geared toward the younger crowd, so there are no thrilling coasters or daring drop rides here. At 42", kids can ride a majority of the rides in the park, and at 48", kids can ride all rides unaccompanied. There is a nice mixture of water rides and regular theme park rides, including water slides, carousels, tube rides, and even a coaster.

The food at Sesame Place leaves much to be desired, and we generally recommend for folks to eat before and after they go. The snacks are okay, but for the price, the quality is just not there.

Aside from the food, Sesame Place is a great way to spend a Saturday or even just an afternoon with the kids. There's plenty to do for the kids, and plenty of opportunities to relax for the adults. The souvenir shop and picture areas are also adorable enough to be worth checking the park out at least once, even if you don't have kids.

Families, especially those with younger children, will love Sesame Place! The rides and attractions are mostly aimed toward kids between 4 and 12 years of age. The entire park is colorful and lively and is perfect for kids to let their imaginations run wild while parents can relax nearby.

Sesame Place doesn't really need more than a day to be able to enjoy all it has to offer. Single day tickets start at around $60/person, meals average between $12 to $20, and the souvenirs can vary. Aside from food and souvenirs, there's not much else you'll need to pull your wallet out for during your trip.

Early summer is warm enough to enjoy the pools at the park without dealing with the huge crowds that descend at the start of summer break. When schools begin again in September, the crowds die down again. In October, the Sesame Place celebrates Halloween with some special decor and events, so it's a great time to check it out.
