Ghost Town at Knott's Berry Farm is one of the first lands created by Water Knott as early as the 1940's. It's a tribute to the wild west, with its variety of craftsman shops, western-styled buildings, and thrilling rides. Many portions of this land are authentic and were brought in and rebuilt from other areas in the US. For example, the one-room school house was brought from Kansas.

This land also features the most restaurants in the park, so it tends to be very lively. Don't miss out on the treats at the Ghost Town Bakery or the unique loaded tater tots at Calico Tater Bites!

The crowds are usually spread out pretty nicely in Ghost Town, since there are so many things to do, from riding the rides to gold panning to visiting the Western Trails Museum. There are also tons of little details to enjoy as you walk through the land. It's just a beautifully themed area to be in, whether you like to be always on the go or just prefer to relax and stroll.

The line can get pretty busy at this location, though, so we recommend taking the opportunity if you ever see it get short.

Pemmnican Pickle
Pickles, Pretzels, and Churros
Price: $5 - $10
Pemmican Pickle is located right by Sutter's Grill, Sutter's Pizza, Calico Tater Bites, and Sutter's Funnel Cake, so the area around it is often packed. Strictly-On-A-Stick
Corn Dogs & Fried Cheese
Price: $10 - $15
This cute little quick-service window serves up hand-dipped corn dogs or fried cheese on a stick. They're great for quick lunches or a snack between rides. The shoestring fries here also make for a great snack on their own. We recommend trying the Boysenberry Corn Dog, which features a hot dog surrounded in soft, boysenberry cornbread. Lines here tend to get long in the middle of the day, so we recommend checking it out early in the morning or later toward the evening.
View Menu
Sutter's Funnel Cake
Funnel Cakes
Price: $10 - $15
Sutter's Funnel Cake is usually the busiest of the funnel cake locations in Knott's Berry Farm, due to its proximity to many other great eateries like Sutter's Grill and Calico Tater Bites. It is one of the most convenient places to grab a funnel cake dessert if you are eating at one of the other restaurants nearby, but we recommend splitting your party (if you can) and having at least one person wait in line here while the rest get the main meal. It'll significantly cut down your waiting time! Alternatively, you can try Ghost Town Grub, which is just around the corner and serves up the same exact menu.
View Menu
Sutter's Grill
Burgers, Tenders & Salads

This quick-serve eatery is a popular location for lunch or dinner, with typical fare like hamburgers, sandwiches, and salads. They also have a great array of Vegan-friendly options, like the Veggie Burger and Vegan Chicken Tenders. The area around it is pretty lively, so it's an attractive location for a meal, but that also means the lines tend to get pretty long.

Sutter's Pizza
Pizza
Price: $10 - $20
Right around the corner, just a few feet from Sutter's Grill, is Sutter's Pizza. This quick-service eatery offers pizza by the slice or whole pizzas for families. The line for this eatery tends to move fairly quickly, since the pizzas are already made, however it can still be a long line.
Wagon Wheel Pizza
Pizza
Price: $5 - $25
Located at the very end of the Ghost Town walkway, by the exit to GhostRider, is Wagon Wheel Pizza. It serves up simple pizza by the slice or by the whole pie. Slices also come with a simple side salad. It's not a very popular location, mostly due to its distance from everything else in the park. It's also open seasonally, so it's not always available. We recommend only coming here if you're craving pizza and Sutter's Pizza is busy.
Wilderness Broiler
Burgers & Chicken Sandwiches
Price: $5 - $15
This quick-service restaurant is located by Pony Express and is a bit of an outpost for burgers and chicken sandwiches. Although the menu is pretty limited, this eatery tends to have shorter lines than other locations, so it's a great option if you don't mind simple burgers and chicken sandwiches. They also do offer limited-time menu options throughout the year, so you can always check those out as well!

Rides & Attractions

INTENSITY LEVELS

Relaxing (Slow with Little or No Elevation Changes) | Mild (Slow to Moderately Fast with Potentially Higher Elevation)

Thrilling (Fast with Potential High Elevations & Loops) | Wild (Intense Speeds, Extreme Heights, and/or Loops)
Butterfield Stagecoach
Height: 46" alone | under 46" w/adult
Intensity: Relaxing
The Butterfield Stagecoach is a charming ride on one of six authentic stagecoaches that were used in the 1800's. The ride itself is relaxing, with the horses going on a fairly leisurely pace. The track trails through Fiesta Village and Camp Snoopy, giving guests a little back tour of those areas. The roof top seats can get warm in the summer and fall seasons, but otherwise, they offer a nice breath of fresh air.
Calico Mine Ride
Height: 46" alone | under 46" w/adult
Intensity: Mild
This is a slow-paced dark ride that focuses on showcasing the art of mining in the early 1900s. Guests traverse the mine caves in small ore cars as they view scene after scene of miners doing what they do best. The scenery in the caves is also a beautiful sight, with beautifully lit caverns and stalagmites all around. There are parts of the ride where the mine carts go up on steep inclines that will require you to hold on to the side of your cart if you don't want to fall back on a stranger sitting next to you. Otherwise, it's the fairly calm ride that takes its time.
Calico Mine Stage
Height: N/A
Intensity: N/A
The Calico Mine Stage is where Knott's Berry Farm hosts many of their delightful performances, especially by the beloved Peanuts characters. They have regular shows throughout the year, but also offer special shows during festivals or holidays, like Knott's Merry Farm. During busy times of the year, they sometimes put up drink and food stands nearby, so you can grab some grub and enjoy a show at a picnic table while you're out and about.
Calico Railroad
Height: 46" alone | under 46" w/adult
Intensity: Relaxing
One of the most popular rides in Ghost Town, the Calico Railroad takes guests on a 5/8-mile journey around the park in a classic locomotive. This ride has been at Knott's Berry Farm since 1952 and uses authentic Denver and Rio Grande Narrow Gauge Trains that were used int he early 1900s. The ride itself is not very long, but the sights around the theme park are enjoyable. Watch out for bandits though!
Calico River Rapids
Height: 46"
Intensity: Thrilling
This white water raft ride lets passengers brave rapids, geysers, and a variety of wildlife as they careen down the watery path of an unexplored river. Of course, riders should expect to get wet, although the amount varies from ride to ride. We recommend bringing extra clothes if you plan on riding this one, just in case!
Ghost Town Blacksmith
Height: N/A
Intensity: N/A
In the heart of Ghost Town is a smithy where guests can watch a professional blacksmith at work on tools, horseshoes, and other various pieces of metal art. You can learn how metal is forged and even purchase a handmade horseshoe or other souvenir to take home!
Ghost Town Stables
Height: N/A
Intensity: N/A
Just around the corner from the Blacksmith and next to the Western Trails Museum is the Ghsot Town Stables. Here, guests can visit with the horses that help make Knott's Berry Farm special. These horses help pull the Butterfield Stagecoach, so they're an integral part of the park.
GhostRider
Height: 48"
Intensity: Wild
GhostRider is undoubtedly one of the most popular thrill rides in Knott's Berry Farm. With a max speed of about 56 mph and a height of up to 118 feet, this wooden coaster is supposedly the tallest and fastest on the west coast! Riders wind in and out of the sturdy timber tracks through twists and turns that are not for the faint of heart. It's also a pretty long ride at almost 3 minutes long, so it's well worth the long lines if you're a big coaster fan.
Pony Express
Height: 48"
Intensity: Thrilling
Guests get to ride astride one of 16 horses as they take a turn through the north part of Ghost Town at a top speed of 38 mph. The ride is an exhilarating coaster that is perfect for families to enjoy since it's not too intense. We wish this ride was longer, since it only lasts a little over 30 seconds, which is disappointing considering how fun those 30 seconds are.
Sad Eye Joe
Height: N/A
Intensity: N/A
In a small jail cell in a back alley of Ghost Town is Sad Eye Joe, the oldest incarcerated criminal in Orange County. Joe loves the opportunity to talk to new people, since that's really the only thing he's able to do. He may even surprise you with his conversation!
Silver Bullet
Height: 54"
Intensity: Wild
This ride was made for coaster fans who love loops and turns and being swung round and round on an inverted coaster (which means your feet dangle!). This is a wild ride in the heart of Ghost Town that involves a giant vertical loop, corkscrews, a helix, a crobra roll, and a zero-g roll. To top it all off, you get to enjoy those features at 55 mph!
The Old Schoolhouse
Height: N/A
Intensity: N/A
This little red schoolhouse sits right next to the Fireman's BBQ area of Ghost Town. It served as an authentic one-room schoolhouse from 1879 to the 1940's. The schoolhouse is furnished with desks and shelves and all sort of authentic knick knacks to discover. There's also a friendly historian who enjoys giving history lessons about the school house and the educational system back in the day. It's well worth a quick stop in between rides and other attractions.
Timber Mountain Log Ride
Height: 46" alone | 36" w/adult
Intensity: Thrilling
The Timber Mountain Log Ride is a classic log water ride that takes guests through woods, a lumber mill, and then a large water flume. There is a good chance you'll get at least a bit wet on this ride, but it's unlikely that you'll find yourself soaked (but it happens). This is an old favorite for guests of the park, so lines will often get pretty long toward the middle of the day. We recommend riding it as early in the morning as possible to avoid the wait.
Western Trails Museum
Height: N/A
Intensity: N/A
Fans of the old west or history in general will love this museum filled with so many exhibitions and little knick knacks to see and read about. The museum staff are also pretty helpful and can tell you more about the displays. This is a great mid-day stop for some A/C and a bit of peace, since it's rarely ever busy inside.
